Staying Fit While Being A Writer: A Cheat Code

Use This Dead Simple Routine That Anyone Can Do And Needs No Equipment

Numbers don’t lie

We have 168 hours in a week.

Work is 8 hours a day, 5 times a week for a 40-hour workweek.

Commuting back and forth for 10 hours rounds it up to 50.

(168–50 = 118 hours)

Cooking, eating, and processing that food. Doing laundry, cleaning out, and going to the market. 3 hours a day for 21 hours a week?

(118–21 = 97 hours)

Oh, yeah, and that one task we can’t live without: sleeping. Let’s assume you hit the recommended 8-hour sleep per night for 56 hours of sleep time a week.

(97–56 = 41 hours)

Want some more? Embrace and cherish the garbage time, as Jerry Seinfeld would say, for at least 2 hours a day, 14 hours per week.

(41–14 = 27 hours)

And you want to be a writer. A prolific and healthy one.

That’s 2 hours a day for writing and 1,5 hours 6 times a week for mind, body, and spirit health (gym, walk with the dog, yoga, functional training; your choice).
