It’s chilling to imagine what 450ppm might bring, given how destructive 422ppm already is. But rather than succumbing to terror, this should ignite action. The leap between those numbers is a reminder that every fraction of a degree—and every part per million—counts. We still have choices to make, even if they grow harder with each passing year.
