Hi there, Richard!
You hit on the real problem—there is no safety net. The fact that places like Asheville or my hometown here in Patagonia aren’t even prepared to insure against floods or wildfires shows how deep the denial runs.
We must stop pretending there are safe zones and start facing the reality that this crisis is inescapable. Ignoring it won’t protect us, but systemic change just might. Either we revolutionize how we prepare and respond or face the inevitable: a world with no refuge left.
Big fan of your words, by the way!
Thanks for engaging and for providing valuable thoughts.
Southern winds from Patagonia,
Ricky
