Hi Frederick!
You’re right to point out the dangers of turning problems into profitable ventures — that’s something we’ve seen play out again and again. I hear your frustration, and it’s clear that the commodification of solutions, especially when profit becomes the priority, often misses the mark. The “business of the problem” you mention is very real, and it’s certainly not the answer.
But it feels like we’re at a crossroads — we can either let the system keep us enslaved, or we can redefine what progress means. Opening our eyes to the deeper forces at play is critical, but so is the need to take practical steps in a world that’s far from ideal.
I agree, profit shouldn’t be the guiding force. But until we change the system itself, we need to be smart about how we navigate it — that includes pushing for the right actions, even if imperfect.
